Travel Can Be A Spiritual Pilgrimage Back To You
What if every trip you take is actually a pilgrimage back to your own sacred center? Natolie invites you to trade sightseeing for soul seeing, exploring how intention turns movement into prayer and how landscapes become teachers that mirror the woman you are becoming.
This episode unpacks the difference between escape and engagement, and why crossing borders with intention can awaken memory—reminding you of the power you already carry. You’ll hear how meals can become communion, silence can become guidance, and unexpected moments off the itinerary often hold the deepest medicine. Natolie shares a short reflective practice to start your own inner pilgrimage: simple breath, honest questions, and the willingness to let the land lead.
If you’re feeling the quiet pull toward rest, release, and reconnection, we share upcoming retreats designed as true pilgrimages, and additional silent retreats and wellness events that honor pace and presence.

Healing and Wholeness for Every Woman
Welcome to Awaken Your Inner Whole Woman, the show for spiritually rooted women who are hungry for change and growth. I am your host, Natalie Warren, and my mission as a personal development strategist and inner healer is to inspire, educate, and motivate women worldwide to stop limiting themselves and settling for less than what they want and were created to be. If you are ready to transform your life by getting out of your own way, hearing your soul's voice above the noise, and activating your life's purpose, you are at the best place. Let's tune in to today's episode of Awaken Your Inner Whole Woman. Welcome to Awaken Your Inner Whole Woman podcast. I am delighted that you are here. And a part of you knows that there's so much more to who you are and what you are here to do in the world. And I am inviting you to join us. You are on the journey with us already. We are doing a series called Women Are Traveling to Heal, where we are exploring why women around the world are journaling to journeying to rest, release, and return to themselves. I'm your host, Natalie Warren, therapist, retreat leader, and spiritual traveler. And in today's episode in this series, we are going to be exploring one of my favorite truths. One of my favorite truths. And travel is more than a movement, it's a spiritual pilgrimage. So come on and join me on this journey. And we're going to talk about a pilgrimage as a journey to a sacred place, a temple, a mountain, a holy site. But what if every journey you take, every step, every flight, every sunrise is actually guiding you back to what's sacred within you. Because healing travel isn't about really finding something out there. It's about remembering what's been waiting in here inside of you already. So throughout history, what we know is humans have actually traveled in search of the divine, whether it was climbing a mountain to speak to God, crossing a desert to seek vision, walking a labyrinth, one of my favorites, to find peace. And as modern women of today, we are reclaiming pilgrimages in a new way. That we are not running away from our lives. We are journaling journeying into them. We're not searching for God in the sky, we're awakening to the God within us. So when I leave retreats, I see this pattern over and over again. Where women arrive thinking they've simply taken some time off. What they really discover is that they've answered a sacred divine call. And that call is to really return to themselves. So travel becomes like an altar, the body becomes the temple, and the journey becomes the prayer. That's a quiet knowing that happens for you and I when we realize we are not chasing transformation, we are remembering it. But when you do cross borders with intention, your soul responds. Because movement awakens memory. One of my favorite things that I write in my book, that every person that purchases it, perfect, complete, and lacking nothing, what I write in that book when I sign it is always remember the woman you were created to be. And when we do that, when we remember, our spirits began to whisper, this, yes, this is who you really are. So each place on the earth that we travel to carries its own frequency. It's a spiritual invitation where we travel consciously, and we've gone places as close as Sedona, Arizona, to Joshua Tree, California, because I'm based in the states, to all the way around the world, to Bali, Indonesia. And when we're traveling consciously, we're not just visiting a place. We are communing. So let me share with you what we've experienced in some of the sacred spaces that I have been divinely called to. And I know that I am called there, that have really shaped me and all the women who have been on the journey with me. When we went to Bali, Bali is this island of devotion. So everywhere you go, you're going to see offerings, and you might also see small baskets of flowers, you might see incense, you might see intention placed before a temple or a doorway or even in a grocery store. Bali actually teaches us reverence. It reminds us to remember that every act, whether that is breathing or some other thing that you do, can be a prayer. And the Balinese people live in rhythm with ceremonies. They live off of principles of harmony with self, with others. And when you walk through the land with respect, your own life starts to feel like a ceremony too. It is just beautiful how it how it unfolds. In Greece, where we've been to Greece, in the land of myth and majesty, the energy in Greece awakens the goddess within. That it reminds you you don't always, it reminds you that you've always had the power. But maybe you forgot how to activate it, how to walk in it. And so the waters when we were in Greece shimmers like mirrors, the beautiful waters, reflecting back the truth, right? It tells you the truth of you and of your life. And when I take women there, I often say it doesn't just show you beauty, it shows you your beauty. So it's this beautiful homecoming to the sacred feminine, to wisdom, to sensuality, to sovereignty. Let's go a little further into the deserts of Joshua Tree. The deserts of Joshua Tree become a desert of revelation. That there is something, and I'm still trying to put my mind around it, around the stillness that literally starts to strip away illusions. And in the desert, there's nothing to hide. Somehow that feels like freedom. The land is very ancient. The silence is alive. And that's where many women start to hear the whisper of the next chapter for them. And so in Joshua Tree, you don't just see stars, and you will see many of them. You actually remember that you are made of them. It is so beautiful. Let's go one other place. Africa. Africa is really the land of roots and remembrance. And so when we traveled there, we went to Morocco. Something ancient in my DNA stirred awake. The land, the ancestral energy there, it felt like a return to origin. Africa really calls you to ground into your truth and rise in your purpose. It says to you, like I write in every book that I mentioned before, remember whose you are. So it becomes this journey of homecoming and a healing lineage and honoring the stories that are carried in your bloodline. Now, each of these places, like every woman, holds a different vibration. And it also becomes the co-facilitator for the work, the transformation that we receive. And when we travel with awareness, that vibration becomes a mirror for the part of us that is ready to rise. So a pilgrimage isn't about sightseeing, and we do, we do see things, but it's always incorporated into what we're doing. Because it's really more about soul seeing. That every culture, every ritual, every rhythm offers wisdom when we actually slow down long enough to listen. So in Bali, the daily offerings taught us presence, the act of pausing long enough to say thank you. In Greece, it reminded us of the of the cycles of descent and return, the rebirth that happens and that requires surrender. In Morocco, the Hammonds, oh my goodness, taught us the sacredness of cleansing. If you've never experienced that, I highly recommend it. And it cleansed us not just in our bodies, but the energy that we carry. And as we are going to make our pilgrimage to the Georgia Mountains next year, the simplicity of silence there reminds us that sometimes prayer sounds like rest. When we travel with reverence, every meal becomes communion, every walk becomes meditation, and every encounter becomes divine appointment. I often tell women before my retreats, let go of expectations. That we set intentions, but we detach from the outcome. Why? Because we want to allow the land to lead us. We even ask powerful questions around what does this place have for me? Because sometimes the real ritual isn't on the itinerary, it is in the unexpected things, like a conversation with another sister, a random snowstorm, rainstorm. We had that in Costa Rica. It was a hurricane coming on the other side of the country, and we had a lot of rain. It could be a quiet sunset that brings you to tears. It's the essence of spiritual travel that you don't have to chase the meaning. You just have to be available to it. So I want to invite you in this moment as we start to listen for the soul's call, whatever that is for you, and in a moment of reflection. Perhaps we'll call it a mini pilgrimage inward. Maybe you could grab, if you can, a piece of paper, your journal, an open note on your phone. You can even pause this episode and start to write or come back to it. Taking a breath, deep breath in through the nose, exhaling slowly through your mouth. And now gently, we're gonna ask your soul, what does my soul long to experience in this season? Asking yourself, where is my spirit calling me to explore within or beyond? What part of me is ready to be remembered, witnessed, or released? Last question. Letting these questions kind of simmer, you don't have to rush to answer them. Noticing what comes up. Because sometimes your next pilgrimage begins not with a plane ticket, but with awareness. When you say yes to travel, that's rooted in intention, the journey mirrors your inner work and your inner world. The winding roads become reflections of your own process. The mountains remind you to rise. And I remembered, oh, we were in Sedona, Arizona, and the red rocks. If you've never been, the red rocks of Sedona not only made me think about rising, but they're so expansive. They make you want to expand. The oceans teach you how to let go. The altars and the temples show you that holiness was never something you have to earn. It's something you already carry. So pilgrimage is a dance between the seen and the unseen. It's between who you've been and who you've becoming and who you're becoming. And when you travel this way with the soul, with awareness, with openness, every step from the moment you say yes becomes sacred. So as you listen today, maybe you feel that stirring, that quiet pull to your journey, not just a change of scenery, but for a change for your soul. If that's you, I surely want to say I would absolutely love to walk with you on that journey. And that we have some amazing retreats planned for the year. And each one of these are designed as a spiritual pilgrimage from our soft reset in the Georgia Mountains in February, where women are going to accept an invitation to rest, to release and reconnect, to unleash in Morocco reimagine a journey across the desert and spirit to awaken your power and your pleasure, and to know what are my next steps as I transition in life, to so many other opportunities of silent retreats, of wellness events. Each destination that we choose will mirror an inner journey of rest, of reconnection, of liberation and remembrance. So where is your soul calling you? Looking into the footnotes to get our website, you can visit to get information, awaken to power.com backslash events. You can find out about other opportunities, our monthly breath work, join our wait list, or simply just learn about what it means to travel. Because every woman says yes to their own pilgrimage, she doesn't just change her life when she says yes, she shifts the frequency of every woman who will walk after her. I have seen it happen.
